New Year’s Eve

This Saturday, Angela and Seth Raynor will be at the Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay’s Big Night 8 “BACK TO THE PROM” with a live performance by 80’s bands Hall & Oates and the Bangles, with more than 1,000 guests expected to attend at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The owners of The Boarding House and The Pearl will share the bill with Michael Schlow of Alta Strada, Radius, Via Matta, and Great Bay, Ming Tsai and Michelle Fadden of Wellesley’s Blue Ginger and Pino Maffeo of Restaurant L. Each chef will prepare a particular part of the evening’s menu. For ticket information: 617-542-9090 or visit www.bignightboston.com.

LoLa 41 will reopen on Thursday, February 8th for both lunch and dinner. More details to follow.

The Tap Room at the Jared Coffin House will be closed for at least 2 years, although the hotel rooms currently remain open. Source, I&M 1/4/07.

Hutch’s is now closed after 16 years, and will reopen under a new name and ownership (Linda Petersen and Richard Bailey) after the completion of renovations, expected to take at least several weeks. Source, I&M, 1/7/06.

Even Keel Cafe is closed until February 8.

Marshall Thompson of the Even Keel Cafe will take over the restaurant five year lease at Jetties Beach, serving at least lunch, and perhaps dinner and breakfast.
