Restaurant News

LoLa 41 has reopened, and the global bistro will now be a year round restaurant. Winter hours are dinner from Thursday through Sunday beginning at 5:30, and for the first time, lunch Friday through Sunday from noon to 2:30. The lunch menu includes a Black Angus Burger, Tuna Burger, Soft Shell Crab Greek Composed Salad, Hoisin Scallop Salad, chowder, fried clams, crab cakes, calamari (one of my favorites), a few salads, a Wrap of the Day and a Pasta of the Day.

I met some friends at Fifty Six Union last night, and realized how much I appreciate Wendy and Peter being open year round. It’s a friendly warm respite, especially at this time of the year. Tom is another of those great island bartenders who makes you feel like a VIP, and remembers what you drink, even after a long summer of not seeing you. The food is excellent - last night I had the Javanese Spicy Fried Rice with shrimp, chicken, ginger, sambal oelek, sweet soy, & oriental vegetables - a dish so tasty hot that I needed a beer, which I never drink. (Tom will remember that next time, I’m sure.) Thanks for being our winter living room, you guys.

The Starlight Cafe will be open for lunch 7 days a week beginning Febraury 28, from 11:30 am to 5 pm.Late night menu on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 to 10 pm.

The Rose & Crown will be closed from Sunday (25th) until Thursday, March 1.

Sfoglia is seeking to expand their seating from 28 to 48 by relocating the kitchen to the basement.

Even Keel has reopened, again with their 2 for 1 dinner specials Thursdays through Saturdays.
