Hosted by Audrey Obremski and Harvey Young (in a Vera Wang), the winner of the fourth annual Ms. Mantucket was Ms. Santos Rubbish, Paul Bixby. At the auction, Bixby brought in $3000. Ms Myles Reis, Mickey Beamish, took in the most, with $4000 to sing “Like a Virgin.”
E.J Harvey paid $1600 to hear Richard Diamond sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and Daniel Pronk raised $1000 for his lobster lap dance. A toal of almost $25,00 was raised for the service trip to Guatamala for Nantucket students.

Nancy England and her son and daughter Peter and Kari England will reopen Peter England Nantucket at 11 Old South Wharf, previously Gallery Blue. I say reopen, as you may not remember the old Peter England store, at one time located where Juice Guys now sits. In business from 1977 to 1986, I bought some of the best shirts I ever owned there. Since 1986, Nancy has continued wholesale clothing sales and design. I don’t know if they’ll have men’s shirts, but the shop will carry women’s clothing, bags, accessories, throws and pillows.

The Cellar will re-open on Thursday, April 5.

L’Ile de France will open on Friday (30th) in their new location at 8 India Street.

Michael Hawkins has opened the W Michael Salon, at the former location of The Nail Spa, 19 Surfside Road.

Quidley & Company opens April 2 for the season at 26 Main Street.
