South Wharf Gallery at 3 India Street will be open all day Saturday. No reception is planned, as previously reported here.

Beth English has been holding a series of trunk shows called “currentVintage” that’s getting some buzz. The next Party & Trunk Show will be hosted by Cheryl Fudge at the Nantucket Stock Exchange, 25A Old South Rd, 508-228-9155. Sips, Nibbles & Treasures. Daffodil Sunday from 1 to 5.

The Grand Opening of the W Michael Salon at 19A Surfside Road: this Saturday from 5 to 7, with wine and cheese.

The Daffodil Party at Country Village Real Estate, 10 Straight Wharf, takes place on Saturday from 3 to 5, not the time earlier reported here.

The StoryCorps Oral History Project is coming to Nantucket, a special one-day field trip on Wednesday, May 16th. StoryCorps is a traveling oral history recording project affiliated with both NPR (National Public Radio) and the Library of Congress. The goal is to record the stories of people living in America in the early 2000’s, so that those interviewed can have a recording for their own family archives, and the Library of Congress can compile its own vast archive. A few of the interviews that have been recorded have been edited into radio vignettes which are heard each Friday on NPR’s Morning Edition. Locally you can hear StoryCorps on air at 6:30 am and 8:30 am on 91.1fm WNAN or 94.3fm WZAI. www.storycorps.net.

WNAN has asked me to help find PAIRS of people who could be interviewed - friends interview friends, a son interviews his mother. etc. StoryCorps has a strong desire to reach outside the typical public radio listener to people whose stories may not have been told before.
