Nantucketers Captain Rob McMullen, Diana Kim England, Mike Schwed, and Henry Schwed are on the ground and reporting back from the Iowa Caucuses. Here’s Rob’s report:

“This has been an incredible experience so far. There is EASY access to all the presidential candidates. So far I’ve met Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, Governor Vilsack, and Barack Obama. We’ve also met many celebrity journalists, such as Greta Van Susteren, Judy Woodruff, Bill Kristal, Juan Williams, Major Garrett, etc. The presidential candidates and celebrity journalists seem to outnumber Iowans. We went to a Romney event in the basement playroom of a house at which there were probably 20 people. Most presidential candidates just have an entourage of young staffers. Clinton (who was with Chelsea, but not Bill) and Obama were the only candidates with what appeared to be Secret Service protection. At all events staffers made the press back up so that we could shake hands with the candidates. More to come.”
