Island Chefs are Semi-Finalists for James Beard Awards

The James Beard Foundation has announced the semi-finalists for the 2010 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Award. This small island of Nantucket is now home to 12.5% of the semi-finalists for Best Chefs in the Northeast. The final awards will be on May 3.

SeaGrill Friday Night Benefits

Since the middle of February and running through the middle of June, the SeaGrille has been donating 10% of their Friday food proceeds to island non-profits. This Friday night benefits the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket.


Miacomet Golf Club

The new Food & Beverage manager at the Miacomet Golf Club is Robert Nelson, previously the co-owner and co-chef at Water Street Restaurant.

This past winter, Chef Steve D’Agostino and Robert attended a 3 day Chef to Chef seminar at the Four Seasons Hotel in West Palm Beach, FL.

Look for a new upscale menu and new look in the dining room this spring.


The Wauwinet Winner of Conde Nast Award
For the sixth consecutive year, The Wauwinet has received top honors from Conde Nast Traveler in their 16th annual Gold List for 2010 of the “World’s Best Places To Stay.” The Wauwinet was one of seven hotels listed in Massachusetts and is the only property from Nantucket to make the list, with an overall score of 91.0 out of 100. The list is based on the votes of over 25,000 readers of Conde Nast Traveler.
