Corazon del Mar

Holly Finigan, at LoLa last season, will now be the head bartender at Corazon, along with Kristen Kellogg.

The Green

The Green is a new organic coffee shop opening on West Creek Road for Daffodil Weekend at the former location of the Nantucket Bagel Company. Owner Jenny Bence plans to serve breakfast and lunch with bagels, burritos, wraps, a juice and smoothie bar, organic coffee.

LoLa 41
At LoLa 41, lunch is served Monday through Saturday with special $10 and under plates. On the off-season dinner menu dinner, everything is priced under $20.

Miacomet Golf Club
Robert Nelson, formerly co-owner of Water Street, is back on Nantucket, now as the new Food and Beverage Manager at Miacomet. Robert and chef Steve D’Agostino attended a 3 day Chef to Chef seminar at the Four Seasons Hotel in West Palm Beach, FL recently, and the team says to expect a new upscale menu and new look in the dining room. Carmen Hesse is again bartending, still making the margaritas for which she’s so well-known.

Pi Pizzeria

Adam Smith has replaced Stu Boissonnault
as head bartender. Adam’s approach to drink creation is based on his interest in Italian cooking and the flavor profiles of Italian food, blending vintage cocktails with a modern twist.
Chris Perone will be behind the bar when Adam is not. Also new this year, Pi’s bar will be open during the day this summer.

The Rose and Crown
Until April 15th, prices at the Rose & Crown are 30% less than their normal prices, and that’s for both food and drink.

Pickle Pickle
The Dancing Pickle will open an in town branch, to be called Pickle Pickle, on Old South Wharf at the former location of the Blue Water Bakery. More info as we get closer.

The SeaGrill

The SeaGrill continues to fill the place on Tuesday and Thursday nights when all main courses items are $15. Every Friday night is Benefit Night, when The Seagrille donates 10% of its food sales to a different local non-profit.

Bob Moulder’s Winter Adventure

Ship’s Inn manager Bob Moulder will return to the Inn for his 18th summer. For the past three winters, Bob has served as General Manager of various start-up restaurants in Florida. This year it was the Citrus Grillhouse located in the new Ocean Park development of Vero Beach. With 160 seats and two bars, the dining room, patio and Beach Bar all have direct ocean views. It should be opening just about now.

Bob began summering in Vero Beach in 1993 to open Ellie’s Restaurant owned by Mark and Ellie Gottwald (owners of The Ship’s Inn here on Nantucket). He has since opened 3 Aves Restaurant in 2008 and MT’s Chophouse in 2009.

Bob brought a few Nantucketers along to help him with the project: Kim DeCosta, previously from the Starlight Cafe, and Mary Lou Quayle, longtime manager at Ships Inn.

Bob wrote to tell me of other Nantucketers in South Florida: Paul Gonnella recently opened the 250-seat Manatee Island Bar & Grill in Port Salerno. Former SeaGrill bartender Jeff Sharpe is bartending at On the Edge on the Fort Pierce Inlet. And Dave Powell from the Club Car is bartending at Bice in Palm Beach.
