LoLa owners Marco Coelho and Ozzie Medeiros have taken over the former Sfoglia building and plan a year round Italian Mediterranean restaurant “Trattoria Isola”, opening in February. Liz Holland will be closing Daily Breads on Friday, December 17th, and Mark and Eithne Yelle will be taking over, or as Liz says, she will be “passing the baguette”. The new business will open in the spring as Mark-Et: Fine Foods and Bakery, from mid march through Christmas. In addition to a full bakery, Eithne and Mark will be adding prepared meals and food to go, salads, hors d’oeuvres, dinners, gourmet sandwiches, and specialty items such as mustards and chutney. Renovations begin after the first of the year. Stock up on your favorite Daily Breads before the 17th.
El Rincon Salvadoreno has closed for good, and the space will become Fusaro’s, a family style year round Italian restuarant operated by Tom Fusaro.
Out at Miacomet, Friday nights is the Miacomet Buffet from 6:00 to 7:30 at $17.99 per person, and Saturday night is all you can eat prime rib for $21.99.
Although their season is now over, the new executive chef at TOPPER’S at The Wauwinet is Kyle Zachary. Kyle was a sous chef at TOPPER’S from 2005-2006. A graduate of the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA, he has worked at Alinea in Chicago, the Wheatleigh in Lenox, MA, and the Winnetu Inn at Martha’s Vineyard. Most recently Chef Kyle was the Sous Chef a la Carte at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Very sad to report that Cinco has closed down at 5 Amelia Drive, and the property in now in the hands of Nantucket Bank after an auction sale earlier in the fall.
