Vito Capizzo Recognition Day on Nantucket

September 6, 2009 was Vito Capizzo Recognition Day on the High School Football Field, with a ceremony followed by a free cookout put on by the Nantucket Booster Club. Speaking were: Chris Maury, Director of Athletics; Missy Perry for the Whaler Cheerleaders; Dick Herman, the TV voice of the Whalers; Frank Capizzo, brother to Vito; Dr. John O’Neil, former superintendant; Beau Almodobar, former player and current coach; and John Aloisi, former player and new head coach.

Awards were presented by: Chris Maury from the Mayflower League, MIAA, and NPS Athletics; a proclamation from the Board of Selectmen; a proclamation from State Representative Tim Madden; a special gift award from Dennis Caron; and the field dedication by School Committee Chairman Dr. Tim Lepore.
